It can score you a gig to co-author a textbook on visual rhetoric even though your dissertation was on evolutionary thought in realist and naturalist fiction. I'm not entirely sure what the CV value of a textbook is, but I can tell you this: it certainly ranks higher than "twiddled his thumbs while his submissions sat unread on the desks of journal referees."
*If UPS can register "Brown" I don't see why I can't fake-trademark "Blog."

Depends on where you end up. I understand some places count it as 'pedagogy' rather than 'publication.'

The real question is what can your blog do for _me_? What do I get from _you_ getting a textbook offer? ;)
And congrats on sending out some articles! (if I read that correctly.)

Actually, Scott, I've been meaning to ask you: how would you like to co-author a textbook on cricket?

If one interlocks hands while twiddling both thumbs, likely the higher hand is your dominant hand.
Oh, your PlayGirl spread is out in November. Oh, at your insistence they're forgoing the staples.

What does it mean to co-author a textbook? What does CV value mean? Also, isn't "it certainly ranks higher than "twiddled his thumbs while his submissions sat unread on the desks of journal referees"" written incorrectly? Shouldn't it say "it certainly ranks higher than [his "twiddled thumbs while his submission sat unread on the desks of journal referees."]

In Saturn4Moi, SEK may well have attracted the most annoying commenter in history.
