Redact? Redacted (The pity party's below the fold now.) (For the next week, I'll be rerunning my most substantial posts. Feel free to comment on them again, as I haven't had time to revise them and whatever problems you had with them the first go-round remain.) I only ask because the last time I did that everyone yelled at me. Now that I've shared it with my wife and parents, I'll let you in on it: On the 23rd of December—my birthday, for those not in the know—I received the following message from my doctor: I got your results back and they're suspicious. I'd like for you to come in for extensive bloodwork as soon as possible. My oncologist isn't a native speaker, so I wonder if this isn't an unnecessarily ambiguous message. If nothing else, it ups all antes on my performance at this talk. It may be the only one I ever deliver. Anything less than bombing or the bomb will be unacceptable ...
